Data sources, update rhythm and limits

Main source categories

ANCAP ratings

Used for safety rating pages, sub-score comparisons and SafetyScore-style rankings. Tested year and protocol context remain important.

Recall notices

Used for recall search and recall interpretation articles. The current local CSV is a Jan 2026 snapshot, with the next refresh planned for late 2026 and then every six months. Recall count is not treated as a direct quality score.

Specs, pricing and ownership costs

Used for model pages, comparisons and the ownership-cost estimate. Model v1.4 exposes source classes, confidence, uncertainty ranges and editable assumptions. Always replace illustrative defaults with current dealer, insurer and registration quotes.

AI visibility checks

Used for internal monitoring of AI referral traffic, crawler access, branded search and manual citation tests. These signals do not change vehicle rankings or buyer recommendations.

Update standard

Snapshot datasets

Recall and ANCAP tables state their coverage period. Their date describes the dataset, not necessarily the date you are reading the page.

Fast-changing information

PHEV status, pricing, availability and announced specifications are reviewed more often and carry a visible checked date where they affect the buying conclusion.

Status language

Models are labelled on sale, incoming or watchlist. Announced figures are kept separate from confirmed Australian production specifications.

Corrections

Material corrections update the affected page and are recorded in the public update log so readers can see what changed.

How to read the site

Scores are shortlist tools

Scores and rankings are designed to structure research, not replace inspection, test drives, finance checks, insurance quotes or professional advice.

PHEV claims need extra caution

Battery range, towing and payload are especially sensitive to test cycle, grade, load, accessories and driving pattern. Concept-stage models such as Chery KP31 should be treated as watchlist information until final Australian specifications arrive.

AI-curated summaries are labelled

Review pages organise public-source themes into readable buyer summaries. They are not road tests conducted by Auto Insight Lab by AutoScore360.

Corrections are welcome

If a source, specification or link is outdated, use the contact and corrections page so the site can be updated cleanly.
